Botanical Name: Sagittaria latifolia Common Name: Common Arrowhead Species Category: Wetland Forb An emergent aquatic plant with long, arrow-shaped leaves, this species produces small, eye-catching white flowers about 1" in diameter. The flowers grow in whorls of 3, with multiple whorls on a single, stout stalk. Growing in water up to 1.5' deep, this plant blooms early summer to late summer. It prefers full to partial sun and grows to a height of 4'--although it is often much shorter in poor soils. |
