Two MCD precipitation observers
reach milestone anniversaries

Dorothy Stebbins and Chuck Gamble recently celebrated milestone anniversaries as precipitation observers for the Miami Conservancy District. Dorothy and Chuck have been taking readings of their gages everyday for 35 and 20 years, respectively.

Elk Creek Watershed nitrate study

An evaluation of elevated nitrate concentrations in the aquifer near the mouth of Elk Creek suggests local sources of nitrogen are the dominant source of nitrates to that aquifer.

in the Stillwater River Watershed

Recreation trail to close for construction

The Great Miami River Recreation Trail in West Carrollton between Marina Drive and Alex Road will be closed for about four weeks beginning June 12. That portion of the trail has significant cracks and will be entirely reconstructed. During the reconstruction, the existing pavement will be removed, the base stabilized, and the trail repaved.

Paddle Safe Paddle Fun Demo Day June 3
