MCD receives Ohio Landscape Architecture Award

The Miami Conservancy District has been honored for its efforts to improve Ohio’s quality of life by the Ohio chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA). This prestigious award, the Ohio Landscape Architecture Award, is the highest award given by the Ohio chapter to a non-landscape architect.

MCD to begin single biggest
project since dams’ construction

The Miami Conservancy District (MCD) is set to begin a nearly $3.7 million grouting project to reduce seepage under Lockington Dam. It is the single biggest investment in one of the dams in the last 90 years.

State water trail designation
could boost riverfront investment

The Great Miami, Mad and Stillwater rivers will be officially designated Ohio Water Trails by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Watercraft (ODNR) at a dedication ceremony on Thursday, Aug. 26, at 5 p.m. at the confluence of the three rivers in Dayton.

Voluntary programs provides
incentives to reduce pollution

Funds are available to agricultural producers in the Great Miami River, Stillwater River, and Mad River watersheds who implement projects that reduce phosphorus and nitrogen from running off land into area streams. Applications for the seventh round of funding in the Water Quality Credit Trading Program will be accepted until March 26.
